The Hot Aisle – Virtustream – Episode 4

Happy Friday! Episode 4 of The Hot Aisle is in the books.  Our guest this week was none other than Sean Jennings (@VCDX17), one of the co-founders of Virtustream!  Sean walks us thru the Virtustream story from drawing board to fully functioning IaaS platform.  You’ll get to hear information around xStream, their Cloud Advisory tools, Managed Services, and various other offerings.  We also get an education on Micro VMs and Macro Hypervisors while we’re at it.  Sean was a great guest, and this is a very poignant topic as EMC and Virtustream are walking through the process of a possible acquisition.

The Hot Aisle – OpenStack – Episode 3

With our 3rd episode in the books, we’re here to say that this thing is real and we’re here to stay!  Our guest for this episode is none other than Tyler Britten (@vmtyler)!  We discuss the topic of OpenStack, which is garnering more and more attention daily in the tech industry.  Tyler discusses a bit about the OpenStack Summit, and a few great projects he saw while he was there.  He also covers the consolidation and growth in the industry including recent acquisitions by EMC, Cisco, and IBM.  Great advice is presented on how to get started with an OpenStack home lab using a few different methods – depending on your goals.
